Submission Deadline November 30, 2020 Submission Fee: $20.
Antenna is accepting proposals for chapbooks that investigate the intersections and collaborative possibilities between literature and visual art (defined and interpreted broadly). The most successful proposals are those that are collaborations between artists and writers where the art and writing are equally integral to the project. This continues a series of chapbooks that Antenna has produced since its founding in 2005.
-Submissions can be either fully fleshed out, in process, or in the incubation stage.
-Publication size can be no larger than 9"x6" with page count under 60 pages, full color or b&w.
-Previously published works in journals are acceptable—please be sure to include an acknowledgements page if appropriate
-simultaneous submissions are permissible, but submitters must notify Antenna immediately if the project is picked up for publication elsewhere
-manuscript revisions are not permitted during the submission period
-submitting multiple manuscripts/projects is fine with entry fees for each
Though we are open to all styles of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, we suggest you familiarize yourself with Antenna's publications before submitting. We encourage writers and artists from all backgrounds to submit, with a commitment to publishing prominent voices, as well as publishing first books and lesser-known authors and artists, particularly those who interpret ideas through the lens of New Orleans or have a connection to the city.
Selected Chapbook projects will receive:
-$500 stipend (to be split among the authors/artists/collaborators)
-Antenna will provide layout and design assistance if needed.
-A first edition of 300 will be made under the Antenna::Paper Machine imprint. 50 free copies will be given to the authors (additional copies can be gotten by the author at wholesale cost). If the title is reprinted, authors will receive $1 per book royalty paid annually.
